If there isn't any blood in it I wouldn't worry a lot. How long has it been going on? and how often? Mucus can mean many things and with my dogs I find that it will happen when they eat something they shouldn't have

After eating grass The intestines get irritated an then the rectum sometimes just gets irritated and out comes some mucus.. I had this happen recently and there was grass in the poo.. it didn't digest it at all, was weird.

Watch for blood, and a really bad poop odor and give it a couple of days to clear up and if it hasn't then I would definitely take her off tot he vet. It's not something to rush to the vet with unless you have the above symptoms.
