there was nothing wrong with what you (or I) said. once again, people who have no dog in the race (all pun intended) want to stir the pot. don't worry, it's a hobby for some.
unless the OP comes out and complains - what's the problem? even if that had happened, i don't know that i would feel it was insensitive, but it would make a difference. that didn't happen.
