I agree!! Our friend has a 40ish 50ish pound Black Lab who plays nicely with Nala but we have to constantly supervise them because they are both puppies and the lab doesn't realize how strong he is. They will both chase a ball and bring it back to us but we just have to be careful of large puppy paws.

Our doggie daycare lady has 2 american bull dogs and they are both great with my little guys, and and younger one will lay down to play with Nala, it's adorable!!!

That being said, you could have a playmate the same size as your pup who just doesn't work out.

Pick your playmates carefully, and when there's a large size difference just be that much more cognizant when watching them.
