That's great to hear! Crate training helped a lot for us. So here's what we did.
1. Kept him in a very small part of the kitchen with a peepad when we weren't at home. It was pretty important for us to keep him in a smaller space so he could learn better.
2. When we were home, either crate him or watch him like s hawk.
3. Since Its too hard to know when he's about to go, we just put him on his potty area every 2 hours or so and trained him to go on command.
4. Now that he's pretty reliable, he stays in the living room\kitchen when we are not home. Then right when we come home we put him on his potty area which is now outside. Then every few hours we will put him out again.
5. At nit he's in his crate then we put him out to potty first thing in the morning.
Oh, also a product called Natures Miracle is really handy because it gets rid of the smell if he has an accident. This is important because it'll keep your house unnasty and it will keep your dog from smelling his urine and thinking he should do at the same wrong spot again. |
