I'm looking for a reputable yorkie breeder in Northern California. We will be getting a yorkie sometime between next month and end of year, so are also looking at yorkies that are available now.

I'd like to start conversations with some local yorkie breeders who show or breed specifically for the health of the doggies and because they love the breed. I want to steer away from puppy mills or people who just thought it might be fun to have puppies.

Also we don't have money growing on trees, so would like probably a show breeder who periodically offers puppies for pets. I've seen some nice sites in S. california, but have not really found anyone through AKC or YTCA within 50-100 miles driving distance. I'd want to be able to see the homes where the pups are raised and meet their doggie and human mom & dads. We'd also consider a young rescue puppy or shelter puppy, but want the ability to be trained up together.

Please PM me if you have some thoughts. I have been regularly looking at petfinder locally on the shelters, and we were 2nd in line for two young (1 yr) babies who would have been great for us mutually, but they were adopted quickly. My preference is a puppy and knowing the home of the breeder. Anyone you know of as reputable in N. California in the San Jose or San Francisco area? Any yorkie pups available or soon to be available in our area?
