First is was my understanding as well, you realized they were not of breeding quality.

Second a male knows when a female is ready, trust me HE KNOWS, he will do it when its time, just because he doesnt show interest now merely means she is not ready... It is best you keep them separate for at least the next two weeks to assure there will be no accidental tie!

Third to take your female to another male for experimental purposes is irresponsible, please do the right thing, keep her separated from all males and get her spayed and him neutered!
