Where I live (apox. 17 mi. inland from the beach) there are hawks, owls and eagles! Since my home is in a sort of rural area I have to be ever watchful for hawks in the daytime and owls at dusk and night. One late afternoon about 3 months ago my DH and I (and Neo) just got home from errands. Something caught my eye the same time I heard a thump and saw a puff of feathers floating down from the roof of the house. DH jumped out of the truck and followed what turned out to be a HUGE hawk. Some unfortunate dove was supper that evening (just glad it wasn't Neo!) This happened only about 30 feet from where the truck was parked and we were standing.
