stroke My husband had a stroke 3 years ago in Feb. He has no history of them in his family, never smoked, in good health, but he had one.
He had it in his sleep during the night and we have no clue how many hours passed.
He got up and mumbled something, went into the kitchen and made coffee. My husband has mumbled for all of the 41 years I have known him and I totally did not notice anything was wrong...
We were up for 2 full hours and I was talking to him in the kitchen and other parts of the house.. he is nodding his head yes or no like he always does...then I get on the computer and he comes in the room and sits down and looks at me..he says he doesn't feel right..that is all it took, I called 911. He has never ever said he didn't feel right.
The ER doctor asked him why he waited 2 hours to tell me something was wrong..my dear husband said.."Doc it took me 2 hours to get a word in edge-wise"..funny, funny man.
Bill was blessed with a full recovery in 6 weeks. I asked the doctor if it was a mild stroke and he said..THERE ARE NO MILD STROKES..but some do much more damage then others and people can have disablities the rest of their life.
Now each morning I ask him if there is anything he would like to tell me before I open my BIG mouth..LOL
