The whole purpose for dog shows are to determine if the dogs are breeding quality. The judge checks for anything that could make the dog unsound. A male with only 1 testicle will pass this on so he's not breeding quality. Therefore not show quality. The judge feels and makes sure there are 2 and they are uniform.
A good judge can tell a lot even with the fancy grooming by watching the dog move and hands on feeling everything from bone structure to coat texture, down to maybe even toe color. |
