We just finished a total remodel on our home. We wanted to make it animal friendly, so we used an Armstrong laminate called grand illusion. It looks great and is so easy to care for. If the dogs have an accident the world does not end you can just clean it up. It does not scratch. I am amazed at how much it can take. We have a pool and 5 children and countless friends in and out of our house daily. And after more that a year, you would think we just laid it. Its in every room except kitchen, laundry and baths where we have tile. The problems we foresaw with hardwood besides scratching was of course damage from pee. Every dog has an accident once in a while or they get sick, then your floor is ruined unless you happen to be standing right their cleaner and rag in hand. This was a great alternative for us, we love it. Hope this helps.
