Jackson's similar. Not as drastic but he's very much the kind of dog that always wants to be with his family! He just can't stand being separated from me... like he's fine if I go into another room and he won't always follow me as long as there's no gate/fence in between us. It's so funny. If he can physically SEE me, but he can't get to me, it drives him nuts. He always thinks he's missing something. But when I leave and go somewhere, he's fine. It just drives him nuts that he can see but not get to me, yet when I go into whereever he is, he could care less about me!
Go figure. He's gotten better. When he starts his whining/barking, I assertively make the "pshht" sound and tell him quiet. I no longer give him what he wants (me) until he is quiet. But that's when he's in the fence in the backyard and I'm on the other side of the fence. If I go outside and he's indoors, he will usually stare at me through whatever window he can.
