I have to echo what pancakepat said. Are you really financially able to take care of Molly? Most likely she will have health issues as she ages, most puppymill dogs do, and her vet bills could get quite costly. I know your intentions are good, but have you looked at the big picture? |
Thanks for pointing this out, but yes, I thought of all of this. I know if I decide that I can't afford the care she needs, I can look into placing her with a rescue. I just didn't want Marty to turn Sophie over to the Humane Society. I would rather keep her or foster her until I know she can find a good home. Maybe it is too much for me to take on, I don't know? that is why I started this thread in the first place. but now I have her and I want to at least try to do what I can to provide for her and give her a good life. Marty gave me the adoption paperwork from the rescue she got her from 2 years ago so at least i have a record of all of her shots, etc. And I know it seems silly for me to not be able to even afford a $60 check -up, I won't always be so low on money though, I know it is only temporary. Its because I am just starting out as a hairstylist- change in careers.
on another note- I took her and Tobey to the dog park yesterday. I wanted to see how she would do not being on a leash. She looked like she had the best time! she was just prancing through the grass and almost looked like she was smiling

I was also impressed that she did really well walking on the leash and going up and down stairs. Plus I saw for myself that Marty did manage to teach her the command "stay" because usually Sophie kinda runs away from people but when I said "stay sophie" to put on her leash to leave the park, sure enough, she stopped and let me attach her leash!
