My vet was reluctant to spay Lucy due to her MVD. He said that these dogs often have problems with anesthesia and pain medication. He initially wanted me to take her to a large university.

Then we re-did her BAT and it was only slightly elevated. He now says he is competely comfortable doing her spay. (Now I'm the one scared and keep delaying).

I agree - only your Vet can say what should or should not be done in this case.
