Nothing should be used to try and stop the bleeding.
If you do want to spay her, it is best (safest) to wait til after the heat (6 weeks after is good).

What were the bile acids numbers?
Dogs with MVD can be spayed. Dogs with shunts are sometimes spayed during shunt repair. She may be a candidate for spay, esp. being asymptomatic, but only a vet can make that call. A specialist would probably be more agreealbe to doing it for you. If your regular vet isn't comfortable doing it, I wouldn't have him/her do it.

Ellie's bile acids were 47 post, then 15.7 post. This is around the time she was spayed. Her vet was okay doing it though. Then they went up to 106.

High bile acids does not mean a spay can't be done.
