well thats something to think about. My mom uses my same vet and she has a 3 year old shihtzu that she had spayed last year while she was in heat. I don't rememebr there ever being mention of a greater risk during the durgery if done while she was in heat. Just that it cost more... While money can be issues for some, i think she would have liked to have been informed that it was a more riskier time to do the procedure... dear god another 2 weeks of blah... thanks so much for the info!
