I have to agree with you. After learning what I have about the *great* responsibility that goes along with breeding I quickly decided I would never be able to breed my babies. If you've not, you should share your experience of loosing your beloved pet because of this. I also think most people are unaware of the expense involved in properly breeding, and like your friend think they can make money from it.
