well it is a very strong possibility
my friends maltese had a growth removed under anesthesia and after had ct . I use a board certified dentist and made sure they use cat tube or smaller with mine due to reading about this sadly
but prior to knowing this when mine were spay and neutered had no idea about all this so never asked
Now i make sure all safety precautions are used prior to them going under and go to specialists and pay more to be extra careful
