It depends on the parents yes but not always. When it comes to size, Jackson's parents were 8 and 9lbs and he's now over 12lbs at 1 year old. He was all black and tan as a puppy and now at over 1 year old, he's all silver on back...

A standard yorkie should definitely look a certain way, but yorkies not always follow standard due to many things... genetics, bad breeding, etc. My boy is far from standard but I love him to death and he's a wonderful dog. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better dog, I really have no complaints.

Originally, I wanted him to stay all black and I was sad when he started changing but now I love it and get so many compliments on his hair.

First 2 pics were 9 weeks old
Last 2 pics are over 1 year old now.
