Every morning when I take Teddi for a walk she eats berries on the ground. I have no idea what kind they are. Some are the purple ones and some are red but they come from the huge trees and she always grabs one or two before I catch her. She has never gotten sick from them. I have also heard that dogs shouldn't eat avocado skins and my dad and sisters dogs always eat the avocados that drop from the trees...skin and all and they are never sick. It might just be if they are used to it or not.
