Concerned about unbalanced diet.
If she doesn't do well on new formulation (it has been unbalanced), then maybe it's something along the lines of melanocyte alopecia. Vet to consider biopsy if it gets worse... Ellie's pigment is great though. It just started... |
i know the pigment loss is due to vitamin b like in snow nose with dogs. Also lupus is tied to cracking of nose and is auto immune disease. I think hairloss can happen as well due to steroid use. Auto immune disease such as hypothyroid, lupus, allergies, etc which you and i deal with come out in different ways. I have noticed hair loss in dd on her nose as well and her back like i posted on the pseudo cushings thread - all comes with the territory
these two things come to mind also
Vitiligo: Some hair loss, but mostly pigment loss that causes hair to change color. Mostly seen on the face and head. Seen most often in Rottweilers and Belgian Tervuren.
Zinc-responsive dermatosis: Crusty, scaly skin with hair loss over the face, nose, elbows, and hocks. Cracked feet. Caused by zinc deficiency. Arctic or Northern breeds are most susceptible.
so zinc and vitamin b would be of concern if you are looking at diet balancing
