Maybe you were using a different brand. Wouldn't be the first time that I've heard a dog will use one brand and not another. Must smell different.

I'm guessing because she has to GO!!! She's trapped in there, has to go to the bathroom and (maybe) the pee pads don't smell right so she has no other choice.

Definitely not! She's already shown you this by now pottying 90% of the time while on the leash which she wouldn't do at first. She's smart. She'll learn. In the meantime, I'd try completely covering the bathroom floor with newspaper to make cleanup easier and so that she'll get used to the feel of that under her feet when she potties. If she's okay with that, you can gradually reduce the area that is covered with paper.

I'm betting she'll soon be 100% trained to potty outside! Just keep up the praise and treats for doing that!

Good luck!
