Default white

Of course you are correct when it comes to white on an adult coat. Pups are born everyday with white on the chest and tips of the feet..born in the finest show kennels and everywhere else. I am sure your mentor will tell you by the time they are a few months old..sometimes a few weeks old, the white blends into the gold and is gone. When it is on a foot it grows right off the end and turns a proper color gold..and if you did not see the pup before 8 weeks or so you would never know it had a white toe or two.
Gordon/Bennett of Wildweir were and one still is among the most knowledgeable in the Yorkie world..pick up their book and you will see the sentence..White on a chest denotes a good coat grower..
All things being equal, I will favor a touch of white on the chest of a puppy..I find in my line it means a wonderful silk coat.
