Default Breaking the puppy pad...

Well its been awhile since ive posted on here, as i forgot about it but my question is this.

My lil gizmo 1 1/2 years old, has been trained to a puppy pad since day 3, as we originally lived on a boat it was the easiest solution. We have now been in a studio close to a year and still putting puppy pads down in the bathroom.

He will occassionally use the bathroom outside in the patio and RARELY (but sumtimes) when we walk him..majority of the time the puppy pad is where he goes...the thing is, none of the puppy pads i use and/or have tried are really absorbent so they're literally soaking through to the floor, requiring my partner (who doesn't work) to constantly be cleaning b/c it seems to be discoloring the tiles.

Any one have suggestions on breaking the puppy pad use, and/or suggestions on something that is REALLY absorbent. I've tried, the pads from numerous pet stores, different price ranges, and still same issue. Currently I'm using adult incontinence pads "super absorbency" large...and using 2 of them everytime ...and still! soaking through

any advice will be greatly appreciated!

'Thanks!
