White is not a color that is 'supposed' to be on a yorkie pup. As for how it got there, who knows. Just because a puppy is full akc blood registered doesn't mean it's going to fit the standard 100%. And if the white fades, then nobody will know it was there.
You've quoted an adult yorkie standard and as I am sure you are aware a Yorkie's coat and coloring is everchanging for their first two years plus!

The white markings on a puppy are not substandard nor defective gene throwback.

The best of champions bitches have whelped many with white markings more often within the "star of the chest" some of these babies too go on to be champions themselves...
