I had a friend all lined up, and I was perfectly comfortable with that, but she backed out after she decided to plan her own trip for the same week. I asked my family, but none of them wanted to do it...not even the person who gave her to me (she is family as well).

The vet's was the only reasonably priced option that we could do sort of last minute. I would be majorly nervous/paranoid about having a petsitter stay in my home (I come from a family of law enforcement), and I would have to do some serious research into finding a good sitter to bring her to.

I don't live in NYC, but about 30 minutes north of the city...if anyone knows a good service, please let me know!
