You know, my parents are just a great example of good people who are misguided in their thinking. It has always confused them when we have our dogs (purebred and mutts) spayed and neutered. They adopted a female chocolate lab from a local family about two weeks before we got Luke (my husband's chocolate lab) and one of the first things my stepmother said when she saw him was "it's too bad Sarah is spayed". Sarah is their lab . . . It seems like they think the purpose of any purebred dog is to breed so that the puppies can be sold.
