Hey all -
I just got home with my 5 month old yorkie who had heart surgery 2 days ago. She has an incision on her chest by her left front paw. We were told to keep it dry, and prevent her from scratching it and licking it and all that sort of stuff. We were given one of those e-collars that goes around their neck like a cone to keep her from biting it, but we have found that's not the problem. She can still get that back paw to it and scratch it like crazy!! Any tips on how we can help stop that?? We have her wrapped in an ace bandage to shield it, but they prefer it to be open to air I think. A sweater isn't an option, because she can still get that paw under the sweater and it keeps the incision covered. Any ideas/tips would be appreciated
