In your other thread about this, Yorkie Mum gave you some good advice. I hope she doesn't mind if I repeat it here:

Make it a happy place a chew toy or a ball, yes in time you want it a place to be calm but first it was to be a place they will go in.
Freeze a Kong and let him chew.
Let him go in and out. If the goal is for him to be happy in a crate, if it to potty train he can be out for about an hour to play then he should be tired and sleep. Then toss a treat or two in as you put him in and pack the kennel room to room or you be still beside him till he goes to sleep.
When he wakes take him out to pee and let him play for an hour.
No need to leave a wee one to whine, you just slow down the task or break it into smaller steps, till he can handle it without the fuss. Whining means stress for him and you and you both do not need that.
Just cause you slow it down or take more steps to get a problem solved does not mean the dog is getting away with anything. It is you respecting the dogs individual needs.

I seconded the idea that you want to make being in the crate the best thing ever for Rambo and gave you a link to a great article. If you haven't read it yet, here is the link again:
