I don't think there's anything you can do about it much, as a lot depends on the cat...but that's just my opinion, based only on my experience. I have two cats...one which accepted the Yorkies, plays with them - initiating the play frequently, eats and sleeps with them and the other...a 18 pound male cat that hated the Yorkies from day one, and after they tried and tried to play with him they've given up and now hate him also. Thus it's a standoff between them...and no one's giving in at this point. Alas, he's banished himself to the downstairs and we only see him at night after the Yorkies have gone to bed -- I feel bad for him and try to give him as much attention as I can, but it's for the better as he could hurt them in a fight and he will attack them if they all get caught unexpectedly on the same level of the house. I do miss him...he loved to take baths and be rocked like a baby, and a lot of other cute things.
