I think you should write it as you would want to see one if you were the buyer. Consider would you like or think it's ethical to pay for your dog and have someone try to control all aspects of it after it was yours. If potential buyers are screened carefully I would think you wouldn't have to put in every little detail like some I've seen. Most of the contracts I've read wouldn't hold up in court if push came to shove, enforceable contracts can't be one-sided. So I'd suggest just put one together that you'd be comfortable signing and would be able to be legally upheld.
