My little one loves pig ear. Since I never even try to cut the piece down, she had to step on the ear to chew it. It keep her busy for hours but the pig ear didn't really get much smaller. I mean you can see it have been chewed on but she usually lost interest as the color changed. I guess it just doesn't smell the same after a few days. They are still pretty much the same size as they were by the time I change it out.

I was concerned so I watched her very closely for a while at first. Now I do a daily check up if I were to leave a piece in her playpan. Luckly, my little one is not a heavy chewer so it works for us. It would be a good idea to pay close attenion if you want to try it out as every pup is different.
