I totally agree that keeping them separate is probably hurting. I'm not sure I'm able to keep them together either though because if I gave Bailey run of the house she's still peeing on the carpet some, plus she eats the cat food.

I have a supersonic dog trainer button, which works pretty well to tell Bailey to calm down, but I don't use it for the cat situation because it does scare the cat even more than the dog.
