Bailey is trained (or is that I'm trained?) to get up at 6:00 every morning to pee and eat breakfast. The whole task takes 5 minutes or less. During the week we get up and stay up. During the weekend - we go back to bed and she curls up and goes back to sleep. She pees outside and quickly comes back in because she knows breakfast is next (yipee!!)
She gets up about 4:30 and waits patiently until 6:00 - at 6:01 she will put her nose next to mine and wait for my eyes to open. As soon as my eyes open she jumps around the bed with excitement - every day is Christmas around here!
It took some training to get her to remain calm between 4:30 and 6:00 but she learned the rules. My promise to her is our routine - so I stick with it - even on the weekends and even during the cold, rain, snow and sleet!
