I agree with you on hairstyles -- it's a personal preference and what suits the dog. Some look better long, some short, and some are lucky enough to look great both ways.
I originally intended to do the puppy cut, but Maximo looked goofy when I cut his hair. I never thought I would have a long haired dog.
