YorkieUSA is right. The cotton coat is thicker but soft. Tangles and matts very easy. Hair with cotton fuzz is what I call it. This is actually Roxie's 3rd cut since May. For some reason her hair grows really fast. Her last cut ( all the way down as low as possible) was the 1 t week of August. I keep trying to let it grow out, but the longer it is- the more work it is. I finally gave up AGAIN! Her coat has 3 different textures. The back has a slight wave to it, while the face and legs are nice and silky. But still she is mainly cotton. It never lies straight down. When it grows out -instead of falling down- it stick out-she just looks like a Marshmellow Puff -ROUNDER

with wild hair everywhere. I am sure if I let it grow longer it would fall from the weight, but I would never be able to get a comb through and she would hate me for trying.

That is why I am so amazed at the people who do groom. It takes time and patience. I see the beautiful coats of some Yorkies and I know she will never look like that.( She even takes supplements) But thats Ok- because I love her all the same. Cotton coat and all!
