I too admire you for taking in a special needs baby. I am wondering if you could just alter a regular pattern by sewing closed and possibly reinforcing the arm/leg hole for added support. That is, if I understood your question correctly. I re read your question, I am slow today, but my daughter is making some clothes for my dogs, and she found the patterns in a regular sewing pattern book through school.
