I'm reading that the rabies vaccine can cause lumps that eventually go away - Oliver WAS vaccinated last Tuesday... so I hope and pray that that's all it is, a reaction to the vaccine. I'm going to call the vet from work today...

Please keep him in thoughts and prayers... he's been through hell and back and deserves a good, long life. He's finally learning that life is good and that he's loved.
How old is Oliver? When my baby had her first injection she developed a lump under her skin on her spine but it was moveable and not attached to anything. When she went to the vet after that for an eye infection i asked him and he said it was nothing to worry about and was probably from her injections 2 weeks before. they develop a type of hematoma from it.

it disappeared but when she went for her final injection and rabies it appeared again. it has got smaller but not totally disappeared - that was in January. but it doesnt seem to cause her pain and like i say it is getting smaller so i wouldnt worry too much about it. I know hers didnt appear straight away, it took a week or 2 before it popped up.

if he is young i wouldnt worry about cancer at this stage - but have him checked out. Take him to the vet who injected him and just show him and see what he thinks. they can usually tell from the feel of the lump and its characteristics if it's a problem or not.
