Welcome to YT! If you know you want an adult yorkie, why not look into rescue? Since you are both retired, I'm sure you will get approved by a rescue. Not all rescue dogs are old, ugly, or have behavioral issues. My foster yorkie Katie was an owner surrender and needed bladderstone surgery. She's friendly, playful, likes other dogs, and is very smart! Bc there are so many people losing their jobs and homes, many families have had to give up their pets. Might be something that could work out for you! I see you are in FL. Just like here in CA we have a big problem with pets who need homes. maybe you can help save one!
