Some groomers offer a 2 hour service. At my salon, we never keep a dog for more than 2 hours unless the owner wants us to due to their busy schedule.
Look in your yellow pages and call some local groomers.
I have been grooming for 20+ years, and have ALWAYS done 2 hour service. It is too stressfull for most dogs to have to be caged up all day with barking dogs in a hectic shop...and if your dog is acting like it really is bothered by it, then try to find a groomer who will work with you to make the stay a lot shorter.

My baby has been to 2 different groomers (Petsmart and a private business) and ended up staying at least 4-5 hours or more! He is so strung out by the time I pick him up he won't leave my lap even when I drive home. He is an "only child" and is used to more quiet than at the groomers. Am I being overprotective?
