Hi! Welcome to YorkieTalk!! I am a new Yorkie owner too and I must say that I am loving every minute of it. My little one, Diji, is 3 months now and he is just a ball of laughs. My avatar pic was taken yesterday when he decided to climb into my book bag and refused to get out when I had to leave for class. I am not sure about bringing older Yorkies home but I have quite a few family friends who have Yorkies of 3years plus and they are still as cute and loving as ever. I would imagine that if you get an older dog that is house trained you'd skip out on that whole saga which is a plus. I am really struggling with getting Diji used to Pee time outside.
This website is just a small indication of how many Yorkie mad people their are in the world and if you just have a read through some of the general threads you see some interesting and fun stories about just how much joy these dogs bring to many lives. I have never been so attached to any dog as I am my Diji. Enjoy your Yorkie! Keep us posted on how it goes.
P.S. if you look through the general posts there is one called "Petco Riley" or something similar that Yorkie Talker adopted Riley who wasnt being looked after not too long ago and he was already a few months old by then. Have a look for it and contact her> She would probably be able to give you great advice. |
