Hi everyone. I am new around here and need some help. I am researching getting my first Yorkie and I have a few questions. I lean towards an older dog because i am not cut out for a 12-week-old. By older I mean at least 6 months but I prefer 12 months or older. I always thought that I wanted a female but, after doing lots of research, now think that a male might be better. I already have a 5 1/2 year old female mix who is 24 lbs and loves other dogs. I want a healthy yorkie. I want a lap-dog. I want a yorkie that will get along with my current dog. Originally I was going to get a maltese but after further research I have decided that the Yorkie is for me. I have been in touch with a few breeders and I am close to making a decision but I really, really appreciate any input that you can give me. Oh, and my husband and I are retired so we are home most of the day with our dog(s). Thanks for your help! ..................Pat
