Really? I never heard that before - people believing that a teacup yorkie is a totally separate breed or category. Strange. I thought most just thought teacup meant smaller size. Who knew. I know you were just informing too and not trying to start a debate. I didn't think that.

What's a " registered teacup " if there are no "teacup" yorkies???

The breed standard is NOT 4 to 7 pounds, it is Not to Exceed 7 pounds, so there is no "smallerthan standard" only "larger than standard" but even if it is a 20 pound yorkie, it is still just a yorkie.
I have had people tell me that my 5 pound yorkie is a teacup, because it looks just like their sisters yorkie and hers is a "registered teacup".
