You are a consciencious pet owner ... many are not. The HS folks are doing their job, trying to ensure that there isn't any abuse going on. They are merely repsonding to a report. If conditions are as you say, you have nothing to worry about. If your pets get to the vet regularly, have THEIR number ready to give to the HS people, too, to support your side of the story.

It's a shame that they have to waste their time with good owners, when there are so many bad ones out there.

It appears that you either have a neighbor with an axe to grind over some perceived "problem", or one of them is genuinely worried about the welfare of your furbabies.

Regardless, I, too would consider it an invasion of my personal space and privacy. Let's hope it was a concerned neighbor, not a vindictive SOB who's trying to cause you trouble. The former is a lot easier to forgive than the latter.
