I totally agree with you. Prior to getting my baby, I researched tons of info and learned of a puppy mill not far from me...so I stayed away from that breeder! I got my baby from a retired elderly woman who has her babies in her home. She is not a big time breeder. In fact, she told me last week that she is going to scale back on the small amount that she does based on her age and health. When I went to look at her puppies, she offered for me to go into the area of her house where her babies all live and it was so VERY clean. I would love to take in a couple of little one's and breed from time to time but I am just not sure about it yet! I can call this lady that I bought Raley from any time I want. I've called her 3 times in just over 2 months just to let her know how well he is doing, etc....I am even going to take him to visit her soon.
