Has anyone bred again from a bitch who has previously had Eclampsia please and did the bitch get it again.
Many Thanks.

I'm not familiar with breedng labs and the ramifications of breeding after Eclampsia. However, in breeding yorkies and Eclampsia rearing it's ugly head, it's not recommended to breed the bitch again or allow the pups to nurse. One female I have was rushed to ER and the vet on duty diagnosed eclampsia (not the case) and I was told to begin hand rearing the pups. Now she indicated to me that if she was a larger breed dog, that it nursing the pups to weaning would be a doable......

I do know that others have bred a bitch again, but the fear was there that it would happen, they monitored their girl and if anything out of the ordinary happened in her behavior she was administered Cal Sorb. Also kept on PetCal and scrambled eggs daily. No, soy products (calcium depleter).

What I do recommend is that you discuss this with your repro vet, before even considering breeding your girl again......
