The K/D is not recommended because there is pork in it which is hard on the liver. Vets tend to use it because they see the low protein and think it's a great choice, but low protein isn't all that is needed. They tpe of protein given is very important. Some types cause toxins to build up faster and that causes symptoms. SAMe is generally considered a very important part of liver shunt and MVD in severe cases...

I have an appointment with an internist april 1st!...I will switch him right away to L/D... What is SAMe?
