First, how old is Coqui?
Secondly, you made mention of an MRI. Now as you probably already know an MRI obtains very useful information for both IVDD and for Chiari syndrome. When it was taken, did the radiologist/surgeon see any disc malformation or rupture? In IVDD the ruptured disc invades the spinal space so some type of malformations are usually visable; represented by herniation or rupture.
Thirdly, did he tell you anything about the formation of the skull, in particular, any kind of malformation dealing with the cerebellum? As that is the key factor behind Chiari.
I believe understanding exactly what is going on with Coqui, lies within the MRI that your pup had.
