And ritzydaisy, that style of fleece booties is pretty common up here, where sled dogs rule the roost. I've found one woman who makes the commercially in tiny sizes. She has a Web site: Page 1.

If you sew, all they are are fleece sacks. Her secret is she uses a stretchy elastic at the top to attach the Velcro. It allows you to get them just a little snugger than a cloth Velcro strap.

They don't last forever, and they're more for snow than wet or mud, when they tend to get soggy. But I think she sells them for $12 for 5 of them.
