Bands stay in better than barrettes, especially in thin hair. Make sure you use high quality latex bands made for grooming. Never tug, pull or try to unwrap a band as it will break the hair. Band removal scissors are a must have. They have a hook on one end to snag the band and pull it away from the hair before you cut it. Also, a little conditioner in her hair first helps, too.
