red98vett, I totally understand. Thank you so much for the advice, patience is the most important thing.
Samuel-Samy, thank you for the motivating words and advice! Alike Samy, Miloh is very intelligent, he will pick up quickly on tricks but will only perform them when he knows he is being given a treat. He also has that adorable face that let's me know he has relieved himself in the incorrect place. I try to give him 5 minute time outs while he sits on the pad as a form of letting him know that's where he needs to go, is that okay? |
Hiya

I am glad you are motivated... It will work out eventually..

We do make him sit on the pad when he pees somewhere else and make him understand that this is where he is supposed to pee.. I even sometimes dip my finger in his pee, rub it on his nose, let him smell it then touch the pad with my finger and point that this is where to pee.. Lately though we have removed the pad as he rips it apart (he loves to play with paper). When the pad is not there he pees in the pad holder every time.. it is soo very strange.. last night we came home really late so we took him in bed with us (this almost never happens). He slept with us and in the morning he started licking me (clearly wanted to go wee).. so I got him off the bed, he crossed the bedroom and went to his room and peed on the pad holder.. GO FIGURE!!! So now I just have to mop his pad holder every time he goes... But still gets confused when he has access to the living room and kitchen and goes wherever he wants... when we are very stern with him he pees in his room if he manages to miss the pad holder... It is all too funny!!!
Let me know how you get on and also, if you have any questions or concerns, write me a message.. we seem to be very much in the same boat!
